A community Goal reaches great heights!
The Tallest Flagpole
project started in 1993 as an idea which Dorris Lions Club adopted and made a
realty. Through three years of fundraising efforts the Tallest Flagpole, West
of the Mississippi River was dedicated in June of 1996 at the City Hall lawn. The 200’
flagpole was dedicated to the Veterans of all wars where American men and women
have fought to preserve the freedom we all enjoy. |

Dorris Library
Project
This project was started several years ago by the Butte
Valley Friends of the Library and has progressed to
becoming a reality with the approval of a grant from the
California State Library Bond Act of 2000. Along with
this grant, several donations have come from
Foundations, community members and the hard work of
Friends of the Library who have been working closely
with Siskiyou County Librarian Pat Harper. |
