The City of Dorris , along with the community of Macdoel and other unincorporated areas of Butte Valley are partners with the Siskiyou County Economic Development organization in what is called "Enterprise Zones". These Zones offer existing and new businesses significant advantages in the form of tax credits and other benefits.Those incentives and benefits include:

…………..Up to 100% Net Operating Loss (NOL) carry-forward for 15 years

…………..Businesses can earn up to $ 31,544 or more per hired employee

………….Corporations earn sales tax credits on machinery and machinery parts

………….Unused tax credits can be applied to future tax years

………....Preferences on state contracts
